Part of a multi-stage planning process. The Oversight Committee began its work by contracting for the Alliant Energy Center Market, Financial, Facility and Impact Analysis, which was completed in April 2017. That study identified the AEC’s current economic impact and potential improvements to AEC facilities and their associated costs and impacts. The report did not make recommendations but rather provided the Committee and community with several possible options to consider for making improvements to core AEC facilities (such as the Coliseum and Expo Center) as well as other improvements that could be added to the campus and surrounding area (such as restaurants and additional hotels) to create a more interesting and attractive destination for local residents as well as out of town visitors.
